Opinions on bike covers

Hey everybody, just trying to get some of your opinions and/or experiences with bike covers. I currently have a nice Dowco cover on my ZX-9R, but it is an indoor/outdoor one that is water resistant so the material is kind of stiff and “plasticy.” I cringe every time I put the cover on and off the bike thinking it may scratch it, but it never has. I was thinking of buying just an indoor cover for my new 10. I figured these indoor covers are fabric and much softer. However, someone told me they may let some dust though them and cause light scratching from it. I’m not sure how this might happen, but I figured I would ask here if anyone has had a good, bad, or indifferent experience with these indoor covers before I drop the coin on one. Thanks in advance.

I spent a lot of money on the best Geza cover they have. It starts small and stretches to cover most of the bike. It is totally waterproof and stays tight when I trailer my bike to track days. I have had other covers that degrade in the sun after one or 2 years so I bit the bullet on this one and spent $ 180.00 on this one and boy has it been worth it. Three years old and it still looks and feels new. I totally recommend it. www.gezagear.com

Those are nice covers I've never heard of that brand before. Thanks for the link!

Yeah those are realy good as they won't flap in the wind while towing and cause abrasion like most regular grill covers turned bike covers.

www.beverlybay has great covers factory direct. their 60 $ cover is every bit as comparable with some 200$ covers.

Great thread!
Been wondering about a cover for transporting, but haven't even liked to put one on it when in the garage because of the abrasion thing. My bike has its own quilt, lol..

I have a cheap one from Wally World and have been storing my bike all the time with no scratches. I just wash it every now and then.
