Cam Chain Tensioner

Me and my buddy just installed a manual cam chain tensioner from www.aperaceparts.com for the ZX10R and it made a world of difference on the noise level on the bike. The manual cam chain tensioner is a very nice peice from APE. It is anodized a dark green and very easy to install. I would recommend this part to any body with a ZX10R. It is a little peice of insurance for $46.

Crispin the only thing I can tell you is, It gives you the control to adjust the cam chain when it needs it opposed to depending on the stock cam chain spring.

The question is: just how does one know when it needs it? simply by excessive mechanical noise?

I read about this and they said you tighten it to where you hear no valve train noise and it is tight when it no longer affects idle speed...i guess too tight affects idle
