Time for a new helmet... thinking about a new Shark SRS2? Opinions welcome!
Ok i've been reading and researching on helmets here lately. And have read some stuff on after a helmet reaches to be 5 years old or older, something about it's not as safe and it starts breaking down or something? Didn't know how true this is, but all of my helmets have reached that 5 or more year mark except one and it will be 5 years old by the end of this year. Anyways, i've reading up on the Shark RSR2 helmets and they sound to be in the top 2 or 3 helmets made right now? I currently own a Suomy and two RX-7 Arai's. I love my Arai's and the new corsair V's look good, but OMG!! they are high! The reviews and stuff i've read on the RSR2 Sharks sound just as good if not better then the Arai's in everything but ventilation. I would greatly love some feed back from people that own the RSR2 Sharks and let me know what ya think? Also, before anyone mentions tring a Shoei... I've tried several on in the passed and they just don't fit my head at all and i do not like them.

Ive got the RSR2 Corser in white and I love it. Its very well made and vents well also (big plus in Florida). The sheild mechanism works great and the quality of the graphics are amazing. Two

its hot, ventilation is important.
it took me along time to warm up to arais prices.... but ive not worn anything better for ventilation, seems better than the shoei but ive never worn any of the sharks outside, didnt fit my head well, i can wear a signet or a quantem, semi egg shaped.... for speed?

I've got two RSR-2's-a blue/ pearl white "Fujiwara" rep and a red/ pearl white "DuHamel" rep. Fit and finish are easily as good as my three Arai RX-7 RR series helmets. Comfort is equal to my Arais too. The one advantage the RSR-2 has over the Arais is the faceshield. It's much easier to remove and replace than the Arai system. Plus it's a full 3mm thick- very stout in case a rock should ricochet off the front of your helmet. The sizing and interior shape runs similar to the RX-7 RR helmets too. With a little searching you can save a bundle compared to Arai prices.

I am really considering tring the shark rsr2. Only problem is there aren't any dealerships around that stock them, so i can't try one on to see how it fits compared to my rx-7 arai's. But for 250-300 dollars cheaper then the new corsair V and what i've read about how much people praise the rsr2, i think i'd be dumb not to get one instead of the new corsair V. Would love to hear from some more people that own both arai's and sharks!

I wore a suomy for the past 6 yrs and now have the rsr2 and am pissed at the fact i did not try this helmet sooner. It is very light and vents well but it is all about how it fits. I went to STG tried on the new corsair v and the shark the fit eas similar price was not. both are excellent helmets but imo you get more bang for your buck with the shark.

I've worn Arai, Suomy, Shoei. All top of the line, and all do not compare to the comfort of the RSR2. My Arai RX-7 paint chipped a couple of times, which really pissed me off since it was a $700 helmet. I've been hit by a lot of crap on the road over the past 3 years, and there is not one blemish on the RSR2. $800 for a helmet is just retarded when there is something like this on the market. I wish I never bought my old Arai. Get one... you will not be disappointed.

Another vote for the Shark RSR2. I have had one for about 4 months now and love it. I am going to pick up a second one. Great quality, fit, ventilation, shield, and one of the lightest helmets made. Can't go wrong with one.
